If Redundancy is desired, a LAN optimized solution incorporating two centralized servers, each configured with the SP edition, are required. A synchronous replication method is used for primary-backup (master-slave) redundancy with a transparent failover mechanism. Built-in Active-Active redundancy provides the greatest fault tolerance and allows load balancing and floating channel licensing. This scheme supports the High Availability application used for co-located servers.

If fax survivability is required at the branch office, a configuration consisting of a centralized XMediusFAX SP edition (with or without redundancy) and remote disaster recovery (or branch survivable) site(s) comprised of the AXP edition within the Cisco ISR Series 2800 and 3800, will be required.

Specifically targeted for small to mid-size organizations and branch office deployments, the AXP edition allows branch offices to operate independently should a server failure occur at the headquarters or in times of a WAN outage.
